The appointment comes at听an important time听for the University as it continues to deliver its Roadmap 2030 ambitions and respond to opportunities and challenges across the higher education sector. Recently named Higher Education Institution of the Year at the Herald Higher Education Awards, 天美传媒 is also recognised as the top modern university in Scotland and first in Scotland for Graduate Prospects听-听On Track in the Complete University Guide 2027.听

With a vision to become the UK's leading work-integrated university, 天美传媒 is focused on enabling students to succeed through industry-relevant learning, strengthening research and innovation, expanding strategic听partnerships听and maximising its contribution to economic and societal wellbeing. The听Lay听Chair听plays a听pivotal听role in overseeing progress against these ambitions and ensuring the University听remains听well positioned for long-term success.听Working closely with fellow governors and the Principal, the听Lay听Chair听is responsible for听enabling the Board to provide听appropriate scrutiny,听support听and strategic oversight.听

Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Robert Gordon University,听Professor Steve Olivier,听said:听

The University is encouraging applications from individuals with significant leadership and governance experience across business, industry, the public sector, healthcare, finance, energy, higher听education听and the voluntary sector. The recruitment process aims to attract a diverse field of candidates whose听expertise听and perspectives will strengthen the work of the Board and support good governance.听听

The position carries an annual honorarium of 拢22,000 and an estimated commitment of approximately 50 days per year.听听

Lay听Chair of the Board of Governors,听Colin Hunter,听whose term is due to conclude following the appointment process,听said:听
